A letter from Iran
Hello My Brothers and Sisters in Christ:
It has been a long time since my last letter to you all. I hope you all are doing well and being blessed mightily by the Lord. I wanted to talk to you about what is going on inside of Iran and the thoughts we have about it.
We are facing critical times in the history of Iran. God is using these post-election heart wrenching events to bring the nation of Iran one step closer to the fulfillment of Jeremiah 49:38, where God promises: "I will set my throne in Elam (today Iran)"
Here are my observations as how these events relate to the work of the Gospel in Iran.
1. The recent violent crackdown of the protesters is causing a great number of Iranian Muslims feel even more oppressed, desperate, and hopeless than before. As a result, they are more open to the message of the Gospel than before.
2. Most demonstrators were not there to stand up for their moderate candidate. They knew that Mr. Mousavi is still a government approved candidate and even if he wants to, he will not be able to bring major changes to the country. Most were there because they were against the Islamic government all together. Since Islam and the government are one in Iran, they were indeed rejecting Islam. It is a proven fact that those who reject Islam are very open to the message of the Gospel.
3. These demonstrations showed how desperate and hopeless the people of Iran are. They found a small ray of hope, and many were ready to give their lives for it. This deep seated hopelessness and despair is the reason thousands are coming to Christ every month.
4. These demonstrations and the faction inside the government have caused the government to focus more on this immediate crisis it is facing. As a result, the persecution has alleviated giving Christians a chance to share the Gospel more freely.
Iranians are desiring change and they are not getting it. They sought hope but became more hopeless. This is the time to share with them that their only hope is in Christ. Many are ready to give their lives to Christ if the message of the Gospel is presented to them clearly and compellingly.
Now is the time to send the workers to the field for the field is ripe for the greatest harvest of souls Iran has ever seen! As in the time of Esther we are witnessing another “for such a time as this” inside of Iran. Wouldn’t it be amazing to be involved in saving a nation from the clutches of the Enemy? Now is time to be a part of the powerful move of God that is growing exponentially inside of Iran. We are praying that the Lord will provide to support the leaders inside Iran as they bring the Gospel to 70 million people.
Would you consider taking advantage of this “Kairos” moment of opportunity, and help thousands of Iranians find their only true hope in life: Jesus Christ.
Some images of the events.
The Tomb of Esther and Mordecai
These are the tombs of two Jewish people whose names appear in the Old Testament. The building is made with bricks and stone on the graves of Khashayarsh's wife (Esther) and her uncle (Mordecai). There are antique wooden boxes and manuscripts of the Old Testament inside the building.
In Him Alone, Amos 3:7 Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but He reveals His secret unto His servants the prophets. "The prophet is the man with God's wisdom in his mind, God's truth on his lips, and God's courage in his heart."
