“I am the Alef and the Tav, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last.” (Revelation 22: 13)

From the very last chapter of the Scriptures to the very first, you will find the ‘Alef’ and the ‘Tav’ (in the Hebrew). “In the beginning, created Elohim…”  [and then an untranslatable] “Alef, Tav, the heavens and the earth.” Genesis 1:1
From creating the heavens and the earth in the beginning, recounted in Genesis, to the renewed heaven and the renewed earth spoken of in the end, in Revelation, we see Yah works in cycles and patterns and is always present.

In doing a word study on the first word recorded in Scriptures, ‘Bereshith,’ (‘in the beginning’ --  an idea I got from Mark Biltz) many truths are discovered. Yah’s whole plan is laid out in this one word.

The Word Bereshith in Hebrew is a:  Tav, Yud, Shin, Alef, Resh, Beit  (Hebrew is read right to left.)

Tav, Yud, Resh, Beit  (first two and last two letters) = Covenant
Shin, Alef  (two middle letters or heart of the word) = fire or fiery

A Covenant of Fire  - found in the very first word from the very beginning.

In Moses’ blessing over the children of Israel in Deuteronomy 33:2, we see by His words that he is going back to the beginning – the Covenant of Fire.
“…at His right hand a law of fire for them. Indeed He loves the peoples, all His set-apart ones are in Your hand. And they sat down at Your feet, receiving Your Words.”
“From the heavens He let you hear His voice, to instruct you and on earth He showed you His great fire and you heard His words out of the midst of the fire.” (Deuteronomy 4:36)
“for indeed, our Elohim is a consuming fire.” (Hebrews 12:29)

Resh, Beit (first two or…..
1,2
Alef, Resh, Beit (…first three letters) = pure, clean, son, threshed grain or wheat – to create, build or bear a child  [We know Yeshusha was ‘threshed’ as wheat or whipped. “What you sow is not made alive unless it dies.” 1 Cor. 15:36]
1,2,3
Alef, Resh = to see
2,3
Shin, Alef, Resh = head, chief leader, beginning, basis, foundation
2,3,4
In the son is seen the foundation…..
The Son was seen in the beginning of creation – the chief foundation or corner-stone.
Life out of death

Alef, Shin = fire
3,4
Yud, Alef, Shin, = fiery
3,4,5
Yud, Shin – gift, present
4,5
Tav, Yud, Shin = thorn bush, early fig, garment, to set, place, put, lay, foundation
4,5,6
He [Beit (1), Resh (2)] (The Son) first appeared [Resh (2) Alef (3)] to Moses on Mt. Sinai in a thorn bush [tav, (6) yud, (5) shin, (4)] in the form of fire [alef ,(3) shin (4)].

Within the first two and three letters of this Word we see the pure Son (of Yah) with Whom Yah created or built the foundation upon which everything else is.
He was a gift, identified through the thorns placed on the Head. He (the Son) has the heart of Elohim, as He and the Father are One.  (John 17:10-11) In fact, the Son is the Covenant and so is the heart of His Father.

If the Covenant is seen in the heart of the very first word, before there was ever an Israel, who does the Covenant belong to – just Israel or the whole of creation?
Actually it belongs only to Israel.
Why?
Because to be Israel is to be Yah’s people. Going under the Covenant is what makes us Yah’s people. It is what makes us Israel, giving us entrance, showing us the way back into the renewed Jerusalem.  “Blessed are those doing His commands (Covenant), so that the authority shall be theirs unto the tree of life and to enter through the gates into the city.” (past those angels) Revelation 22:14  Each of the gates have one of the 12 Tribes of Israel inscribed upon it. (Revelation 21:12) So to enter, you must be Israel.

“Moses commanded us a Torah, an inheritance of the assembly of Jacob. And He was Sovereign in Jeshurun, (a name for Jerusalem) when the heads of the people were gathered, the tribes of Israel.” (Deuteronomy 33:4)
Notice the Torah (Covenant) was an inheritance – not of the whole world – but of the assembly of Jacob (or the tribes of Israel) – Yah’s people.

Having said that, the Covenant being found in the very first Word before there ever was an Israel also means the Covenant does pertain to the whole world; but it belongs only to those who accept it and are obedient – known as Israel.

In Isaiah 42:6 and 49:8, the Son is identified as the Covenant. Who does the Son belong to?  [pertains to the whole world, but He belongs only to those who accept Him]

“I, Yah, have called You in righteousness and I take hold of Your hand and guard You and give You for a covenant to a people, for a light to the gentiles…”
“Thus said Yah, “In a favorable time I shall answer You and in the day of deliverance I shall help You – and I guard You and give You for a covenant of the people, to restore the earth, to cause them to inherit the ruined inheritances,…”

Looking a little closer at Bereshith:

When we divide Bereshith into two:  Tav, Yud, Shin / Alef, Resh, Beit , we find some very interesting truths:
Resh, Beit = Son
Alef, Beit = He who comes
Beit, Beit – gateway, entrance

Yud, Shin = gift, present
Tav, Shin = foundation, basis
Shin, Shin = six  [the number of a man]

The Son is He who comes, and is the (1) gateway or entrance,[ “I am the Door” John 10:9] (2) the gift or present to man in the form of a man [“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son…” John 3:16], and  (3) the foundation or basis, [“the chief corner-stone” Mark 12:10/Ephesians 2:20] of everything.
Three is the number of Messiah; six is the number of man.

All this in the very first word.  [And I’m sure there’s more.  Can you find it?]
