Israel Trip 2010 - The Creation Foundation - Themes from Genesis to Revelation

Shalom!

This is the first letter for those of you who want to receive information about the Israel trip 2010.  Thank you all for your interest!  I hope to have a web page up within the next few weeks that I can keep current and then we won’t need this e-letter.  Until then, I will keep you posted via e-mail.

As stated before, the theme of next year’s trip is The Creation Foundation, Themes from Genesis to Revelation.  It is hosted by myself, Tony Robinson of Restoration of Torah Ministries, and Hollisa Alewine of The Creation Gospel.  We are delighted to work together along with Joan Pennington to make this a successful event.  Joan Pennington, a mutual friend of Hollisa and I is coordinating the air and land activities, while Hollisa and I will plan the teaching venue.  Let me say up front that there’s lots of activity going on right now to make this a successful trip.  We have lots in the work and Joan is working hard to get things planned.  She usually takes groups of people over to Israel every year and so she has experience doing this.  Furthermore, she is well networked, not only with the Messianic community in Israel, but also with the non-Messianic community in Israel.  So, we should expect to make some great, meaningful contacts when we go.

Hollisa and I have come to an agreement that this trip, coming at the time of the Biblical feast of Shavuot, is going to be one of preparing laborers for the harvest.  Shavuot is the festival of weeks, the ingathering of the wheat harvest.  Thematically, wheat is used as a simile and metaphor for Adonai’s people (remember the parable of the wheat and the tares?).  This is why the Shavuot of Acts 2 was more about the harvest of (3000) souls into the kingdom than it was about the physical wheat harvest.  Typically, the book of Ruth is read during the feast of Shavuot because of its close thematic connections to Shavuot.  This trip will be one of labor as Hollisa and I labor to impart unto you foundational Biblical themes and it will be one of labor for you also.  We want some Ruth’s who are willing to work during this period of Shavuot.  Your labor will be to come prepared to look, listen, study, learn and participate in this teaching tour of Israel.  If you really believe the concepts we’re teaching then we want you to come and be equipped as you learn in the land where it all happened!

The Creation Foundation Israel trip will be from May 16 – 27, 2009.  Current plans are to leave from Atlanta Hartsfield airport the evening of May 16 and return on the 27th.  In general, we plan on starting in the southern part of Israel.  We will stay in a kibbutz in the Dead Sea area from May 17-18.  We will travel to Jerusalem and stay in a hotel for two days.  More importantly, we will be in Jerusalem at the temple mount for the feast of Shavuot May 19, 2009!  Then we will head to northern Israel to stay in another kibbutz for the duration of the trip.  We are currently assembling the sites we will visit.

The teaching will occur at the sites we go to visit.  Hollisa and I will both chose four major sites (total of eight) where we will present extensive teaching and training.  We will be working closely with you instructing and discipling you in the major themes from Genesis to Revelation that will help you have a firm foundation in the Word.  These intense teaching sessions will occur at these major sites, which we will visit during the daytime.  We will also visit other “satellite sites” of interest near our major sites.  So you will be able to see many significant sites during your unforgettable trip to the wonderful land of Israel.  Then, during the evenings we will gather at a larger meeting place and have conference-style worship and teachings.  These teachings will be open to our touring group and to the local Israeli’s!  We expect to gather Messianic believers from the land and hopefully others from the land who are interested.  More later on the details of our activities.

The price for the trip will be $3100.00.  This is an especially good price for the time period we’re going.  It’s always more expensive to travel to Israel during feast days.  Most 10-day trips to Israel are running in the $3500 - $3900.00 range.  Moody Bible’s 10-day Israel 2010 trip is $5400.00 per person!  Your total price will include a round trip airfare from Atlanta to Tel-Aviv, 9 nights of accommodations, entrance fees to all touring sites on touring days, tips to hotel staff, a modern air-conditioned coach touring bus, a licensed professional English-speaking tour guide and porter’s fees at hotels and at Tel-Aviv airport.  Not included in the price will be lunches,

tips to the tour guide bus driver and health & travel insurance.  I strongly suggest you purchase travel insurance.  We currently plan on taking approximately 30 – 40 people.

The first thing we need to do for the trip is secure seats on Delta Airlines.  Joan has contacted Delta and requested that they reserve 30+ seats for us for the following flights . . .

DL /  152       16MAY2010        ATL1030P         TLV  520P                K / KKILE/GN00

DL /   87       27MAY2010        TLV1240A         JFK  645A                L / LKILE/GN00

DL /   33        27MAY2010        JFK 825A         ATL 1117A                L / LKILE/GN00

We need to have everyone who is seriously interested in traveling to Israel on The Creation Foundation trip pay $150.00 by November 5, 2009 in order to block out these seats and have them available for us!  This is non-refundable, but will obviously be applied towards the purchase of your airfare.  Note - the actual airfare itself isn’t due until around April 16, of 2010 - plenty of time to save up for the trip.  This $150 is solely to reserve the seats and ensure their availability for our trip.  So, I’m asking that you pray and decide soon whether Adonai wants you to be part of this trip to Israel.  If so, then please make your $150.00 payment to Restoration of Torah Ministries.  You can pay through the mail by mailing your check to:

Restoration of Torah Ministries

46 Greystone Drive

Ringgold, GA 30736

If you pay through snail mail, please e-mail me and let me know that the check is on the way.  Or you may pay online through PayPal.  Just go to the RTM Market place at the following link:

http://www.restorationoftorah.org/MarketPlace/index.php

On the left side, under the RTM tree, click in the area to make a donation to RTM.  Update your shopping cart to show $150.00 and then press checkout.  On the checkout page, in the section entitled Miscellaneous/Additional Information, type in that this $150.00 is specifically intended for the Israel 2010 trip to secure your air seat.  RTM will then forward this money to Delta.

Regardless of how you pay, we will also need your name as it appears on your passport so we can pass it along to Delta Airlines!  If you do not have a passport yet, then send me your name as it appears on your driver’s license.  There is plenty of time to get a passport.

It is important that everyone who is serious about the trip make this initial commitment by November 5, 2009 so that we can secure the seats for the flight over.  Some of the larger touring groups don’t need to make this initial commitment, but we do; however, I’m sure you’ll agree it will be well worth it.  Remember, the actual total airfare isn’t due till April 16,2010!

Thank you for your interest in this trip and in the ministries of Tony Robinson and Hollisa Alewine!  This first e-mail is just the basics.  We’ll have much, much more information to communicate to you in the up-coming weeks and months.  The web page will be up and running in a few weeks, where you will be able to get the latest up-to-date information on the trip.  If you have more questions please feel free to talk to any of us.  Joan, of course, will be your best source of information concerning the land and air packages.

Shalom, Shalom,
