The Booth of Elohim
09/18/2010
Revelation 21:1
“And I saw a renewed heaven and a renewed earth, for the former heaven and the former earth had passed away and the sea is no more.
And I, John, saw the set-apart city, renewed Jerusalem, coming down out of the heavens from Elohim, prepared as a bride adorned (2885) for her husband.
And I heard a loud voice from the heavens saying, ‘See, the Booth [Home, Dwelling Place, Tabernacle, Tent] of Elohim is with men and He shall dwell with them and they shall be His people and Elohim Himself shall be with them and be their Elohim.”  [Is this speaking of that future Sukkot, the first festival celebrated in Messiah’s reign?]

Adorned - 28885 – to put in proper order, i.e., decorate [Elohim has decorated His Sukkah beautifully for His bride.]
from 2889 – orderly arrangement, i.e., decoration; by impl. the world, inclu. its inhab., adorning, world
from the base of 2865 – to tend, i.e., take care of, to provide for, by impl. to carry off (as if from harm, generally obtain) bring, receive

The renewed Jerusalem is Elohim’s Sukkah where He dwells among His people. It is the place He has prepared for His bride – a place of order, sustenance and protection. When He returns, He will come prepared to take His bride to Himself, into His Sukka/Tabernacle.
His bride, in putting her Elohim/Husband first, has also put things in proper order. She has her priorities straight. She has adorned herself (made herself ready) for His coming. All things in their order; everything in order within the ‘all things’.

Revelation 21:9-10

“And one of the seven messengers who held the seven bowls filled with the seven last plagues came to me and spoke with me, saying, “Come, I shall show you the bride, the Lamb’s wife.”
And he carried me away in the Spirit to a great and high mountain and showed me the great city, the set-apart Jerusalem, descending out of the heavens from Elohim.”

This cannot be speaking of the renewed Jerusalem as being the bride, (as I have heard it said) for a bride is not an inanimate object like buildings and other structures but a living, breathing, personage.
The Set-apart Jerusalem is descending out of the heavens from Elohim.  Does the bride descend out of heaven or does the Bridegroom (The Lamb) descend out of the heavens in coming for His bride? Didn’t Messiah say, He was going away to prepare a place for us that where He is we may be also and that He will come again to take us to Himself?  (John 14:1-4)

So who is the bride? We might better answer that by first looking at who the bride is not.

Revelation 21:27
“And there shall by no means enter into it (the renewed Jerusalem or Booth of Elohim) whatever is unclean, (948) neither anyone doing abomination (2840) and falsehood, (5579) but only those who are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.”

Revelation 21:8 “But as for the cowardly (1169) and untrustworthy (571) and abominable and murderers (5406) and those who whore (4205) and drug sorcerers (5332) and idolaters (1496) and all the false, (5571) their part is in the lake which burns with fire and sulphur, which is the second death.”

948 – to stink, to be disgusted, to detest, especially of idolatry, abhor, abominable
2840 – to make or consider profane, call common, defile, pollute, unclean, unholy
5579 – from 5574 – lie, lying, to utter an untruth or attempt to deceive by falsehood
1169 – timid, faithless, fearful
571 – disbelieving, without faith, untrustworthy
5406 – intentional homicide
4205 – male prostitute, fornicator, whoremonger, debauchee
5332 – a drug, spell-giving potion, a druggist (pharmacist), or poisoner, a magician, sorcerer
1496 – an image-worshipper
5571 – from 5574 – untrue, erroneous, deceitful, wicked, false, liar, to utter an untruth or attempt to deceive by falsehood

Those that fit this description cannot enter into Elohim’s booth – the renewed Jerusalem -  as nothing unclean can enter. Yah’s orderliness is not a priority with them. They are not prepared or adorned or ready - but not because they didn’t know or couldn’t have been. They have no excuse.
Zephahiah 3:1  “Woe to her who is rebellious and defiled, the oppressing city! She did not obey the voice, she did not accept instruction, she did not trust in Yah, she did not draw near to her Elohim……Yah is righteous in her midst, He does no unrighteousness. Morning by morning He brings His right-ruling to light, it has not been lacking, yet the unrighteous one knows no shame.”

Revelation 19:6-9
“And I heard as the voice of a great crowd, as the sound of many waters (the earth) and as the sound of mighty thunders, (the heavens) saying, “Halleluyah, for Yah El Shaddai reigns!
Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him praise, for the marriage of the Lamb has come and His wife prepared herself”.   [Two Witnesses to the marriage – earth and heaven]
And to her it was given to be dressed in fine linen, clean and bright for the fine linen is the righteousnesses of the set-apart ones.
And he said to me, “Write, ‘Blessed are those who have been called to the marriage supper of the Lamb!’ and he said to me ‘These are the true words of Elohim.’”

It seems two groups will be written in the Lamb’s Book of Life: 1) the bride, and 2) those called to the marriage supper of the Lamb (the guests).

Isaiah 61: 10
“I greatly rejoice in Yah, my being exults in my Elohim. For He has put garments of deliverance on me, He has covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decks himself with ornaments and as a bride adorns (5710) herself with her jewels (3627).” ( 5710 – adorns: adah – hey, dalet, ayin – to advance, continue)(3627 –jewels:  keliy – yud, lamed kaph – something prepared)

…………. A bride prepares herself  by advancing in righteousness, which are her jewels – “All Your commands are righteousness” Psalms 119:172b
“That women dress themselves…..with good works….” 1 Timothy 2:9,10 [manifestation/outworking of the Word/Righteousness within – proper order]

How does she put everything ‘in order’? By faithful, loving obedience to Her Husband’s commands, thereby being covered, being adorned and being ready.

Zephaniah 3:13, 17
“The remnant of Israel shall do no unrighteousness and speak no falsehood, nor is a tongue of deceit found in their mouth. ….Yah your Elohim in your midst, is mighty to save. He rejoices over you with joy, He is silent in His love, He rejoices over you with singing.”
Our Elohim in our midst, rejoicing, SINGING over us in His love! A celebration of love and marriage? (I can’t wait to hear Yah sing!!!)

The bride is: (opposite of Revelation 21:27; 21:8)
preparing for her future marriage by continuing/advancing in His Word in order to know and please her Husband;
true to her husband/ her Elohim, by being obedient out of love for Him;
she is spotless and without blemish in garments clean and bright (in His coverings);
there is no falsehood in her mouth;
she is faithful, trusting and without fear;
she nurtures;
does not have anything to do with the things of Satan, i.e., drugs, sorcerers, etc.;
she belongs only to Yah (she is not divided or doubtful).
